This “gut rehab” transformed an “upstairs/downstairs” residence into a welcoming home. The kitchen, pantry and old dinning room were integrated into a “great room”. The back stair which separated the spaces was opened to suggest a sense of individual space yet to allow an integration of activities. The master suite was redesigned to provide individual his/her closets and dressing areas. A new language of interior trim was invented to provide a unifying theme of squares as column capitals, and window and door accents.
