These offices and show room for the home products company, Lifetime Brands, were built at the same time as the building shell was renovated. The 30,000 SF of offices was a consolidation from 60,000 SF previously occupied, with many individuals moving into open office areas. This required careful design of the open work areas to maintain a feeling of privacy and team cohesion. The 18,000 SF new showroom was designed in the previous warehouse space with a black ceiling and special lighting to give it a “trade-show” feeling. Special energy efficient lighting fixtures were selected with independent control to minimize off-peak energy requirements.
